Job Gains and Losses

Security jobs have been created by a partnership between Coast & Country and Coastline Security, a Redcar based security company (Bdaily)

Newcastle digital branding company Layers, has said it will be expanding from 3 to 8 staff in the coming months (ChronicleLive)

The RBS is closing 162 branches and losing 792 jobs in 2018. These include Durham  (14/8/2018), Middlesbrough (7/8/2018) and Sunderland (21/8/2018) (BBC, ITV)

House of Fraser is also to close stores as it tries to stay afloat. There is no news yet as to which stores  are affected - in the North East, there are shops in the Metro Centre and in Middlesbrough. (BBC)

Tees Valley Advanced Manufacturing Park
Not quite three at once but there is still time. After the International Advanced Manufacturing Park (IAMP) next to Nissan, a proposal for the TeesAMP has been submitted by a partnership of Cleveland Property Developments, Middlesbrough Council and Tees Valley Combined Authority.  The aim is to attract manufacturers to the area and generate new jobs.
